Spiders in Central Texas.
Most Texas spiders are not medically significant. Two are not: the black widow and the brown recluse, and both love garages, attics, and quiet corners of Austin homes.
Spiders come inside for exactly one reason: dinner. Cut off the insects they hunt, seal the gaps they come through, and the spiders leave with the buffet. That is exactly what we do.

Seasonal pattern
What months are spiders worst in Central Texas?
September and October, every single year. Spiders are here all twelve months because our winters never really argue with them, but early fall is when the males mature, go looking for mates, and end up walking into your garage.
Warning signs
Your garage has tenants.
Egg sacs in closets or storage boxes
Spiders near lights at night, hunting insects
Sheet webs under the eaves that keep coming back
Red hourglass low in a meter box or pot stack
Almost every spider we meet in an Austin garage is harmless. The two exceptions have a red hourglass or a violin mark, and both like low, dark and undisturbed. Send a photo to 843-480-8699 rather than a stick. From the picture we can usually tell you whether it needs same-day attention.
How we get rid of spiders.
Inspect
We find webs, egg sacs, entry points. And the insect food source drawing them in.
Treat
Targeted, pet and kid friendly treatment. Webs and egg sacs removed by hand.
Protect
Entry points sealed, exterior barrier applied, year-round.
What we actually find on spider jobs.
Our own photos from service visits across the Austin metro. If you are trying to work out what has moved into the garage corner, one of these is very probably it.
Red hourglass, an egg sac above her, and a juvenile off to the right. Low, dark and undisturbed is exactly the brief.
A whole season of insects caught in one sheet web. The funnel retreat sits just out of frame.
Rebuilt across the walkway every night. Those string lights are doing the recruiting.
Two of them and webbing across the entire corner. Garage corners are the single most common call we get.
Loose tangled web, one wrapped meal, and a shelf nobody has touched in months. That is the whole appeal.
Inside the cabinet under the sink. Damp, dark, and behind a door that stays shut.
Sitting on the folders with dinner already caught. Undisturbed cardboard is prime real estate.

Spiders follow their food. Knocking webs down without thinning the insects they are catching buys you about a fortnight, which is why the general treatment is what actually holds.

Spider control, answered straight.
What months are spiders worst in Texas?
September and October. Male spiders reach maturity in late summer and start roaming to find mates, and cooling temperatures push them toward the warm side of your walls at the same time. Activity climbs from about April, peaks hard in early fall, then drops off through November. They never disappear entirely, because Central Texas winters are far too mild for that.
Are the spiders in my garage dangerous?
Almost always no. The overwhelming majority of spiders we find across the Austin metro are not medically significant, and most are quietly eating the insects you like even less. Two are worth taking seriously: the black widow, which has a red hourglass underneath and nests low in meter boxes, garage corners and stacked pots, and the brown recluse, which is present in Central Texas but far less common than people fear.
Why do I suddenly have so many spiders?
Two things usually happen at once. It is early fall, so the males are wandering and looking for mates, and there is something feeding them. Spiders follow their prey, so a porch light pulling in moths, or a damp mulch bed holding crickets, will keep a population fed indefinitely. Deal with the insects and the spiders leave with them.
Do I need spider control year round in Central Texas?
Yes, if you want it to hold. Our winters are mild enough that spiders stay active, and egg sacs laid in the fall hatch in spring. Recurring service keeps the webs knocked down and the prey insects suppressed so the population never gets a chance to build back to an early-fall peak.
Does spraying actually get rid of spiders?
Not on its own. Spiders have relatively little contact with treated surfaces compared with insects, which is why spray alone disappoints people. The part that works is mechanical: physically removing webs and egg sacs, treating the voids where they actually shelter, and cutting down the insects they eat.
How much does spider control cost in the Austin area?
Spider control is included in our recurring general pest plan starting at $66 a month for a single-family home, alongside ants, roaches, scorpions, wasps and rodents. There is no separate spider plan to buy. Larger homes and lots are priced higher, and we confirm your exact number with a free on-site quote.
