Bed bug control
Gone for good, so you can stop inspecting the mattress at midnight.
Quick answers
Bed bug control in Central Texas: the quick facts
Bed bugs are quoted per property after an inspection, because the work varies far too much to post a flat rate honestly. They are not seasonal; they live indoors all year. The first sign is usually dark specks along a mattress seam rather than a bug you actually see.

Bed bugs in Central Texas.
Bed bugs hitchhike in on luggage, furniture and house guests. They hide in seams and cracks within about eight feet of where you sleep, because they are lazy as well as awful, and they multiply fast.
DIY sprays scatter them deeper into the walls and turn one problem into several. Whole-room professional treatment is the only version that reliably works, and that is the job we do.

Warning signs
Check the seams for these.
Overnight bites in a straight row
Rust-colored spots on the sheets
Tiny shed skins in mattress seams
Pale eggs stuck in a headboard joint
One live bed bug is a phone call, not a shopping trip. Do not spray anything, because that scatters them into the walls. Photograph what you found, text it to 843-480-8699, and tell us which room. From that we can usually judge whether it needs someone out today or a scheduled inspection.
How we get rid of bed bugs.
Inspect
Room-by-room inspection: mattress seams, frames, outlets.
Treat
Whole-room treatment that reaches every hiding spot.
Protect
Follow-up inspection to check for survivors, and we treat again if we find any.
What bed bugs actually leave behind.
Every photo here came off a real service visit around the Austin metro. Bed bugs get identified from what they leave far more often than from the insects themselves: dark spotting worked into a seam, pale eggs, and the translucent skins they shed as they grow.
One adult and a few dark specks up at the head of the bed. This is usually the sighting that starts the phone call, and it almost never means there is only one.
Two adults out on the quilting with spotting between them. They feed at night and retreat to the nearest seam, so the trail points back toward where they are living.
The cord seam running around the edge is the single most reliable place to check. Spotting this dense is not something passing through, it is a harborage.
Pale eggs and translucent cast skins mixed into the staining. That combination means the population is breeding on site and has been there a while.

What it costs
Bed bugs are quoted on inspection, not from a price list.
This is the one job where we will not post a number. Room count, how much furniture is involved, how long it has been running and whether anyone has already treated it all move the price, and a flat rate would only be honest for about half of the homes we see.
| Bed bug treatmentSeparate job | General pest planRecurring | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is for | Clearing an active bed bug problem from a property | Ants, spiders, cockroaches, scorpions, wasps and rodents |
| Covers bed bugs | Yes. This is the job | No. Bed bugs are not on the plan |
| What happens first | A free on-site inspection, room by room | A standing recurring visit on your schedule |
| How it is priced | Per property, after we have seen it | Per month, by home size and lot size |
| Why not a flat rate | Room count, furniture and how long it has been running all move the number | Not applicable |
| Price | Quoted on inspection* | From $66 a month* |
The inspection itself is free and there is no obligation. You get the number before any work begins, and if we find something on site that changes it, we tell you and you decide.
* Starting price. Your exact number depends on home size, lot size and current pest pressure.
Bed Bug Control, answered straight.
Are bed bugs seasonal in Central Texas, or can they show up any month?
Any month. Bed bugs live indoors at room temperature and feed on people, so a Central Texas summer or a January cold snap changes nothing for them. What does track a calendar is travel. They ride home in luggage, in secondhand furniture and with house guests, so the calls tend to follow vacations, moves and visiting relatives rather than the weather. If you find one in February, it is not a fluke and it did not come through the yard. Treat the sighting the same way you would in July.
Can I get rid of bed bugs myself with sprays or bug bombs?
Not the way you are hoping. Over-the-counter sprays and foggers kill the few bugs they touch and push the rest deeper into wall voids, outlets and furniture joints, which turns one bedroom problem into a whole-house one. Bed bugs also hide in places a fogger never reaches. Whole-room professional treatment works because it is designed to reach every seam and crack they use, then a follow-up inspection catches any survivors. Skip the aerosol aisle and call us first.
Could these bites be fleas or mosquitoes instead of bed bugs?
Look at the pattern and the timing, and if you have caught the insect itself our guide to what bed bugs look like runs through every life stage and the six bugs people mistake for them. Bed bug bites tend to come in lines or tight clusters, show up overnight, and land on skin that was exposed while you slept: arms, shoulders, neck. Flea bites cluster around the ankles and rarely climb past the knee. Mosquito bites are scattered and usually follow an evening outside. Then check the bed itself. Rust-colored spots on the sheets, shed skins in the mattress seams or a sweet musty smell in the room point to bed bugs. No pet and no yard time points the same way.
If I have bed bugs, does that mean my house is dirty?
No. Bed bugs are hitchhikers, not scavengers. They do not eat crumbs or live in grime, they eat blood and live within about eight feet of where a person sleeps. They arrive in luggage after a trip, in a used couch or headboard, or on a guest who had no idea they were carrying passengers. A spotless guest room gets them exactly as easily as a messy one. Clutter does matter in one way: it gives them more places to hide, which makes the inspection slower. It has nothing to do with how they got there.
Besides the mattress, where else do bed bugs hide?
Anywhere dark, tight and within reach of the bed. The mattress piping is the first place we check, but the bed frame joints, the headboard where it meets the wall, the box spring underside and the nightstand drawers come right after. Electrical outlets and switch plates near the bed are a favorite. So are baseboards, curtain hems, picture frames and the seams of an upholstered chair somebody reads in. Our inspection goes room by room for that reason. Replacing the mattress and leaving the rest is how people end up calling twice.
After I call about bed bugs, what happens and how is the price set?
First comes a room-by-room inspection: mattress seams, frames, outlets, all of it. It is free and there is no inspection fee. Once we know how many rooms are involved and how far it has spread, you get a firm quote before anything starts. Bed bugs are not part of the monthly general pest plan, because the work varies too much from one house to the next to price it flat. Treatment covers the whole room, not just the bed, and we come back to inspect for survivors. If we find any, we treat again.
